All that needs to be said about the game tonight - Maryland is Illinois' daddy.

Looking at the bright side - this team doesn't lose heartbreakers.

They get clobbered when they lose.

Illinois is Maryland's..... can't post it here. I know SIU-E's coach so I'm more excited about them this postseason.

good point...other than the TN and MSU game.

This team is young and not very versatile. I thought they had finally realized in the closing games of the season that there are other ways of scoring and winning besides just 5 out shooting treys. Apparently, they didn't learn the lesson.

I don't get the softness though...the reluctance to attack the rim with force and foulness. Watching Riley contort his body into a pretzel to avoid contact once he's in the lane is just painful. It's like watching flag football.

But it's really obvious on D. One of the Jeremy Warner podcasts they went through the numbers....it's grim and obvious. the PSU game on Jan 8 was really the last time they had a good defensive effort.

Looking forward to Friday night....but not expecting to be watching Illini bball next week.
