There is a lot of room in between being a Pollyanna and a doomsayer at this point.

There are too many ifs with results falling in either direction. With all the question marks, I don't see how one can be excessively optimistic or pessimistic. By the middle of June, we should have a much better idea how the questions will be answered.

Throughout ST we have tended to walk fewer hitters than our opponents and that speaks well for our pitching as well as our hitters’ patience.

Sure the position players need to play better than last year but I have no reason to think they won’t. The look we are getting of Gorman, Scott II and Herrera is encouraging. I don’t worry about Winn or Noot. Willson will be solid at first. Looking for more from Burleson and Donovan and a spark from Walker. I think Koperniak is ready to step up and make the outfield solid at 4 levels.

Can’t wait to see how fast Davis and JJ move thru the minors. Can’t wait to see who we pick at #5 in the draft. Get a little momentum going in ‘25 and maybe Chaim comes thru in next winter’s FA market.

Listen to the naysayers if you want, this could be aencouraging year.
Yep.

The only way that I could be happier is if we were the Dodgers.

I mean, how could you be happier with such a pathetic ownership who does nothing but milks money off of such ignorant people who call themselves fans and give them money? Honest question.
Foolish comparison. Nobody has the resources of the Dodgers. I don’t recall giving DeWitt any money last year. How much did you give him?
And i think that you're an idiot for saying it's a foolish comparison. The last time that i checked, the wrinkled bag DeWitt owns a mansion in California just like Mark Walter does. You're just stupid enough to believe that DeWitt is poor :(

It's absolutely incredible how much money a terrible owner like DeWitt has saved me and how thankful I am.
Not sure who would argue with that moronic logic or would want to. In the 30 years of ownership, De Witt has won twice as many WS as his share and has been to the WS twice his share as well.

Those are just facts.

How about the last decade? Dodgers 4 times to the World Series twice won cardinals once to the World Series and lost. How good are the teams now? Zero chance cards go to the World Series good chance the dodgers win. They won last year with their rotation in shambles

So what is the name of the poster who has 4 idiots included in the name? Add a couple of others (including yourself) to those that think this team is worthy of any significant win total. This team will not win 75 games. I don't know if people are high or excessively drunk therefore I'm guessing there are a few on here who are carrying MO's aliases. Have you watched this team in the last 2 years and this year's ST? This team will be fortunate to finish 4th or 5th place in the central.

So let's recap. This offseason, the POBO said the only move that matters is offloading the team's single remaining superstar...and then he failed to do that.

If you're not concerned about that, then your fandom has become a mental disorder.

What is the fetish about the Dodgers? We’ve all lived in fear that, with their resources, they might get their act together someday and leave us in the dust. One can only hope they will eventually self destruct.

I didn’t throw down the gauntlet against the powerhouses in the National and American League. I’m just saying what I see is far more optimistic than the doomsayers. I like our future and don’t care about the doomsayers.

Arguing that we aren’t as good as the Dodgers is nothing short of a straw man. I don’t give a chit.

You seem to be the one with a mental disorder if you care what the outgoing POBO said or attached any hope to his words.

If the Cardinals became the Dodgers and won by outspending most everyone else by a wide margin I’m not sure how fun it would be to support the team. But I’m also not interested in being perennial basement dwellers with no payroll.

This is why the game needs a true salary cap and salary floor. It’s most exciting for the fans when there is some reasonable level of parity. Doesn’t mean all teams have to spend the same, but keeping everyone between 125 million and 250 million would make baseball a much better game all around. Won’t ever happen but it should.

I agree 100%. I never have listened to negative people and I never will. It is counterproductive to be a pessimistic loser.
You constantly complain about Melville and think he negatively views certain players. You post incessantly about Melville, so it appears you do listen to those people. It appears he has gotten in your head. In addition, you constantly post negatively about Nolan Gorman. Sounds like you need to listen to your own advice, guy. Just saying!
Not true, fella. On the rare occasion I respond to the COWARDLY LIAR, it is to correct the record concerning his constant lies and misinformation. I.E. his 18 months of lies concerning Arenado being traded. Care to go on the record here, now, and tell me if YOU claim Arenado was traded by the Cardinals? Are you a man or a "96 HOUR GUARANTEE " minion?

As for the Iron Glove, what part of his game ISNT NEGATIVE?

HIS STRIKEOUTS

HIS WORST DEFENSE IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE AT 2B

HIS HUGE DECLINE OFFENSIVELY IN ST LOUIS 2024

HIS TERRIBLE NUMBERS IN MEMPHIS 2024

HIS TERRIBLE NUMBERS IN SPRING TRAINING 2025

What have you that's great about him?

Cardinal fans are excited for guys like Roby, Hence, Mathews, Davis, JJ, Scott, Crooks, and others.

I dont see anyone stating the same about being excited for this Gorman guy who finished 2024 in the minor leagues.

Have you, fella?

I'm disappointed because, whether by choice or by circumstance, they still seem to be on this "middle road" between really competing (which the roster is really in no shape to this year anyway) and being committed to doing a thorough rebuild. Only this year they've edged somewhat closer to the rebuilding side of the "middle road." They are in 70 to 85 win purgatory with no clear path to get out of it other than waiting for Arenado's, Gray's, Contreras', etc. contracts to expire.

I like the talent in the pen and believe Maton was a good add. I fully endorse the decision to keep Helsley to close and play to win.

Listen to the naysayers if you want, this could be an encouraging year.
Agree with everything you said.
I’ll add to it.
I liked the pickups of Barrero, Helman and Anderson even though I think only Barrero will stick.
I’m glad Arenado stayed.
The rotation could be really good if Gray pitches like the ace he is and if Fedde repeats last year.
I do have doubts about Mikolas and Matz but both have been good at times in the past and if one of the two rebounds then we are in really good shape with Pallante and McGreevy to take over for the one who doesn’t rebound.
