The PD review was brutal. I don't have the site but the headline was "it's worse than bad, it's boring."

And he must not think so much of his own place as he was absolutely spotted around town enjoying some of our nicer establishments. I understand he doesn't have to eat every meal at his place. It's hot now despite the reviews. Let's see if it's still there in 18 months.

Ramsay is a corp.
He has nothing to do with this restaurant other than taking a few picks in and around it.

I would guess that he, or more likely his people, have plenty of say. From the design and layout of the phyiscal space to the menu. If the guy's name is going on the door he's going to have some input one way or the other.

I legit put the over under on two years and I'm betting the under. It takes a ton to get the average non downtown resident to go downtown to eat. There are only so many athletes that come to town (most teams stay at the 4 seasons) and the reviews aren't gonna help. Hope I'm wrong. I never root for restaurants to fail. This one seems teed up to do so.

His people yes, of course, it's a formula that's been used all over the world.
To think St Louis is even given any thought, at all, NOT.
They won't say that , let the people think it. It's all about $ and the $ only. If it makes $ great, if not , throw it away and move on to the next.
Just look at all of the kitchen nightmare makeovers that failed, more failed than made it, if any actually did make it.

I went there as I was staying at the hotel. The environment was great, and there was a great view sitting at the bar. The food was good, but the menu was not to my liking. I will go there occasionally when I’m staying down there, but not often.

I could find this online but curious about the price point if you don’t mind sharing. Standard meal, sharing an app, salad dinner and a drink or glass of wine.

Most of the meals were in the mid 20s to low $30 range. It was expensive, but not stupidly expensive.

Ramsay opined with SLM while he was in town for the ribbon cutting: https://www.stlmag.com/dining/gordon-ramsay-st-louis/

No thanks. I'll have a cheap McDonald's burger over this overpriced foodie place.

Given that it's in the Four Seasons Hotel, I would assume most of their business would be the business-traveler expense-account crowd for whom that's not excessively pricey. I saw the prices years ago at Mike Shannon's and thought the same thing: If you're used to coastal prices...this ain't nothin'.
