The original thread went away when that Ted Striker clown got banned in the purge.
Spoilers.
Yesterday was the first time ever a contestant lost game 16. The fact that she lost to a goof ball from Survivor who (spoilers) wins again today, is kind of funny. The Survivor kid does work for NASA or something similar. I dunno, I find the average Survivor contestant to have the IQ of a shoe.
Ken jinxed the daylights out of the lady super champ. Started talking about records and longevity and all that the day she lost. It's rather like "Rory is 496 for 496 on putts inside of three feet this season." Oops.

Re: Jeopardy
Why was Ted Striker banned?
I love "Jeopardy". I attended a 3-show taping at Sony Studios one morning about 15 years ago, chatting during breaks with Johnny Gilbert about his long-ago game show host friend Bill Cullen, who was always seated while hosting because he had polio.
During commercial breaks Alex would come over to chat with the live audience. The shows are taped in real time, but held for up to 90 days before telecast. That's why it's so impressive that everyone with the show --- including the studio audience--- kept secret when the biggest winners were finally defeated.
The host and game winner change clothes between shows and return with two new contestants about a half hour later to tape the "next day's" show. So I assume contestants are instructed to bring wardrobe in case they win.
I record "Jeopardy" and freeze-frame every clue, giving myself up to 10 seconds to answer. "Final Jeopardy" gives you 30. If the real game was like that I'd have a chance to appear on the show.
Agreed: That new winner is one geeky dude.

Re: Jeopardy
Today, Alex Trebek is honored with his own "Jeopardy" stamp. It's a beauty! It looks like a real game panel with categories all pertaining to Alex. Then, on the narrow white strip just beneath the stamp is the correct question, in script resembling that of a game contestant.
About 12 years ago I attended the presentation inside the AMPAS HQ of the USPS stamp honoring Gregory Peck, hosted by Sharon Stone, Laura Dern, and Morgan Freeman. The highlight was after the event, when some Barney Fife-like usher in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater dashed around, barking "No pictures! No autographs!".
It was then that Jimmy Smits walked up, quietly offering his autographs and patiently posing for dozens of selfies.
Jimmy made a lot of new fans that day.

Made the mod mad. He was part of the great ban of 2024. Legend.

Re: Jeopardy
The Napoleon Dynamite geek with the world's most pronounced Adam's apple is finally vanquished. The show is worth watching again.
