Pruned "inactive users"...
Went ahead and did some spring cleaning, looks like we cleaned a bit too much.
If you are wondering where your posts went it because the forum software thought you hadn't be active since 2020-01-01.
(No... There is no way to recover the deleted posts.)
Only your forum user profile was deleted, not your main profile over on the main website, which means when you go to login... You'll find your a "new user."
Additional
If you got caught in this you'll have to go through the email verification process, your username will be green until that process is completed.
If you find you can't login because you're stuck in email verification, trust me you got sent an email today as soon as I saw you were active... find it and click on the link provided (it may have gone to your junk/spam folder and if that's the case get that fixed at your end.)

Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
What does it mean if a username appears in brown?
Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
A user who has either banned, or put on probation will appear in brown. Look at the user's profile to see which is which.

Do our notifications still work?
Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
The should, but you need to check your user settings to make sure you’re getting them, assume you’re a new user and you’re back to defaults if your username appeared green recently.
Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
Mine do

This topic is not for off-topic/casual conversation. If you aren’t asking about the event in question the post will be deleted, and warning or timeouts may be employed.
Why do users in green show up as not existing when you check their profile? I assume that’s a function of not having gone thru the re-establishment process? Just curious.
Thank you.
Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
My testing shows you see the users, unless... They're stuck in "email verification" mode.
In that mode they can't login until they find the email sent to them and confirm that their email address is receiving emails sent by the forums.
The manual process is as follows:
Since this is a manual process it may be a bit (days if the user doesn't see or bother to click the link) where they can't login, and aren't visible.
In that mode they can't login until they find the email sent to them and confirm that their email address is receiving emails sent by the forums.
The manual process is as follows:
- The list of newly registered users is manually scanned:
- A New user is:
- toggled to "green" and sent into the email verification process (it's after this they disappear from view.)
- The user finds the email sent, and goes back to a validated "newly registered" users. (they become visible again.)
- A new user who's completed "email verification" is removed from "newly registered" and they cease being green.
Since this is a manual process it may be a bit (days if the user doesn't see or bother to click the link) where they can't login, and aren't visible.

Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
Does post count stay at starting over (ala I have 4-5 posts now) versus past history after one has gone through the process?
Re: Pruned "inactive users"...
yes, it's as if you were a new user.
