Settled for the 2-yr FA contract (w/opt-out) with the Mets and won.

The Orioles now have Ryan Mountcastle, Coby Mayo, Sam Basallo, and Pete Alonso at 1B. They are building a strong four man rotation!

Cards need to go get Coby Mayo.

Agree with you on the Burleson for Benge. They could use Burleson in LF or 1B.

They don't need catchers, or any position players really. If you want to match up with them you have to go with pitching. Who do you have that they would want and you would be willing to trade? It has to be both. The group of pitchers I could see the Cardinals could part with are Jojo Romero, Andre Pallante, Pete Hansen, and maybe one of Brycen Mautz or Ixan Henderson. Have I missed anyone? Or, maybe we could trade them Contreras and they could have a 5 man rotation.

Toronto, Boston, and Baltimore are really going for it, good for their fans! Us Cardinal fans are waiting to get excited about what AA pitcher Bloom will get for our best players! Kinda puts things in perspective, doesnt it?

Report on MLB that NO opt-outs in Alonso deal.

Wonder if Contreras gets shopped to New York.
I'd hate to see him be a Met, but he's someone I could see thrive in New York.

After constantly bashing Burleson. You now feel he could possibly get the Mets' #2 prospect. Strange.

Agree with you on the Burleson for Benge. They could use Burleson in LF or 1B.
If you were to be able to make that move then moving Donovan for pitching isn’t needed as much. You add to your pitching depth by trading Burleson instead of Donovan and Donovan can play 3B which helps your infield.
Things are still murky until we get some resolution with Donovan or in this case Burleson. Financially, Donovan and Burleson are similar.

Yep, him and Soto, accumulating total bases together

Everybody has a different way of looking at it- in book they both go.

Here’s a thought, make that move, trade Contreras for some pitching, and extend both Donovan and Burleson.
