I think he actually has shown some improvement as a manager. Not enough to like him, though. I'd still fire him yesterday.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 10:20 amI don't see anyway Oli keeps his job if he finishes .500 or below.imadangman wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 09:49 am No way Bloom hires Pujols right? I could see oli staying although he does blow.
His contract is up after this season and he has shown no signs of improving as a manager.
The clown show has to absolutely stop and get a real manager in here.

You want experience.. offer job to Joe Maddon .. 71 years young
He certainly knows the game and would probably be good with young guys . He’s the tyoe who believes .. let the coaches coach and do their job. No kissing up to front office
That would shock some .

Oh bare minimum45s wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 20:19 pmAre you suggesting that if Pujols was the manager this year…….this team would win 115 games?imadangman wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 13:06 pmHow wouldn't it workout with Pujols with Jay and Descalso on his side. We'd win 115 games.Talkin' Baseball wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 10:56 amI think Pujols will make a great manager somewhere, maybe even here. The problem with hiring Pujols is, if things don't work out well, who has the gravitas to fire him?imadangman wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 09:49 am No way Bloom hires Pujols right? If you were Bloom OR in Bloom's position would you want the Marmot in the dugout? You would be sabotaging everything you are working for.
Re: Will Bloom seek new manager for 2026?
Why do we care? He makes a whole lot less than Jimbo Fisher and he still got fired and bought out.ramfandan wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 11:55 amNo, Oli's contract runs thru the end of NEXT year.. conclusion of 2026 season . He has one year remaining . So if released at end of 2025 , he gets a full year of pay.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 10:20 amI don't see anyway Oli keeps his job if he finishes .500 or below.imadangman wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 09:49 am No way Bloom hires Pujols right? If Bloom wanted Oli to manage his roster, that would tell you everything you need to know. Oli is a loser, just like Mo. if Bloom is cool with that, then he is a loser.ramfandan wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 09:39 am Often in pro sports a new front office boss wants a ‘new look’ .
Not a matter of whether the previous manager/coach is good, fair,or so so. He just wants to start fresh .
So
A. Do you think Bloom releases Oli and hires a new manager for 2026 season? (Pays off his final year)
And if you say YES , do you have any candidates Bloom would pursue for new manager ?
Lastly, if Cardinals get a new manager which coaches would you like to see retained, if any ?
Jon Jay ? Brant Brown ?

In the words of Tommy Callahan, "for the love of god", yes please hire a real MLB-ready manager for 2026. Let the new guy figure out who to keep and who to release from the coaching corps.ramfandan wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 09:39 am Often in pro sports a new front office boss wants a ‘new look’ .

Re: Will Bloom seek new manager for 2026?
Actually we had one, Mike Shildt, who was fired for god knows what reason. He was lined up to be our manager for the next many many years. Just another failure in a string of failures by this ownership/Mo over the last many yearsrockondlouie wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 11:24 am YES
YES
A thousand times YES!
Oli has been over his head since the day he was hired.
The survey of major leagues players who ranked him as the LAST Manager they'd want to play for shows players KNOW he's not a credible major league Manager!
Please, please C. Bloom.......fire Oli the second Mo hands you the keys to the POBO office and bring in a quality Manager.
We haven't seen one since TLR left.![]()
Re: Will Bloom seek new manager for 2026?
Rumblings out there that Bochy will be done after this year. Skip is spending this year taking an “advisory” role under their POBO and took the job while being a fairly hot commodity for a managerial spot. I don’t think it would shock anyone if they handed that job to him.HorseTrader wrote: ↑13 Jun 2025 16:16 pm How about Skip, he did a good job with Marlins the first year. The second year injuries hurt.
