KEEN St. Louis' Young Professionals Association Formed - Andrew J. Tessmer to head

Andrew J. Tessmer, a St. Louis-based marketing/public relations consultant from O’Fallon, MO, has agreed to serve as the first President of KEEN St. Louis’ newly formed Young Professional Association (YPA).  Comprised of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40, once fully formed KEEN’s YPA will support KEEN mission through networking activities and special events.

“I am very pleased to be able to volunteer my time to help build this group,” Tessmer said. “Our mission is to engage and inspire young professionals to participate in philanthropic and leadership endeavors while building awareness of KEEN St. Louis.  The YPA is designed to be a win-win situation both for its members and KEEN St. Louis.”

In addition to regular social get-togethers to network with each other, Tessmer said the YPA will host events throughout the year to raise funds for KEEN programs. Some members may also want to actively participate as a volunteer and work directly with children who have physical or mental disabilities, he said.

“We are very happy to have someone like Andrew step forward and help us get this group off the ground,” said Dave Welborn, KEEN St. Louis’ Executive Director. “As a growing organization, it is important for us to be able to expose KEEN’s mission to as many people as we can.  The YPA will allow us to reach individuals that will one day become St. Louis’ business leaders, decision makers and philanthropists. We are very excited.
