Get the Picture: An Evening Honoring Marshall Cohen and the Legacy of Lift For Life Gym

St. Louis, MO, August 20, 2012 – Lift For Life Gym is celebrating the amazing work of Marshall Cohen, Founder and recently retired Executive Director, of Lift For Life Gym. This celebration will take a look back through Cohen’s Lift For Life Gym Legacy and the continued dedication and growth of the organization in the future.
Since opening Lift For Life Gym in 1988, Marshall Cohen has worked tirelessly to inspire and motivate inner-city youth through fitness and recreational programming. During his 24 years as Executive Director, Lift For Life Gym has helped over 350 children each year through fitness and recreational programming including Olympic-style weightlifting, sports teams, tutoring and an evening meal. All services, including transportation to and from the center, are provided to St. Louis City youth free of charge.
The “Get the Picture” dinner and program will be held on October 12 at SqWires restaurant in the historic Lafayette Square neighborhood. Cocktails will be served at 6:30pm with dinner at 7:30pm. A special ‘Fund-a-Need’ Auction will begin at 8:00pm.
