The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter recently presented its Lifesaver Community Award to the City of Warrenton for training the public in First Aid and CPR on a regular basis and for placing emergency equipment throughout its facilities. A Red Cross Celebration Team took part in the event to celebrate Warrenton's exceptional commitment to helping its employees and constituents make the community a safer place for all.
"The City of Warrenton has been committed to creating a safer community," said Joseph C. White, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter. "Since 2001, Warrenton has placed 12 Automated External Defibrillators in its facilities and police vehicles, and this year alone, have trained over 200 people in lifesaving skills. We find their efforts to be admirable and we challenge other communities to follow Warrenton's lead."
