FOCUS St. Louis Is Accepting Nominations for the 11th Annual “What’s Right With The Region!” Awards

ST. LOUIS, November 20, 2007 - FOCUS St. Louis is asking metro area citizens to nominate outstanding individuals, companies, nonprofit organizations, and initiatives for the 11th annual  "What's Right With The Region!" awards. Nominees from throughout the 16-county bi-state region will be considered for excellent achievements in five categories:

  • Creating Quality Educational Opportunities
  • Demonstrating Innovative Solutions
  • Fostering Regional Cooperation
  • Improving Racial Equality and Social Justice
  • Promoting Stronger Communities

Submission deadline for nominations is Monday, February 4, 2008. A reception and awards presentation will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Sheldon Concert Hall. Four awards will be given in each category. Honorees will be acknowledged in a full-page ad in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch following the awards celebration.

To request a nomination form (faxed, mailed or emailed) contact FOCUS St. Louis at 314-622-1250 x101 or fslstl@focus-stl.org. Nomination forms can be filled out and submitted online at https://www.focus-stl.org/secure/form-WRWRnom.cfm. Forms can also be printed out through the Web site and mailed/faxed.

In partnership with KMOV-TV, KMOX-AM and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, FOCUS St. Louis and lead sponsors including The Laclede Group and World Wide Technology present "What's Right With The Region!" a celebration of what makes St. Louis a better place to live, work, and play.
