St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center Offers Low-Cost Vaccinations on May 8
St. Charles County, Missouri – Pets need routine vaccinations to maintain good health. To help pet owners in this effort, the St. Charles County Pet Adoption Center will offer low-cost vaccinations during a special clinic on Saturday, May 8. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the center, located at 4850 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Peters.
“A healthy pet is a happy pet,” said Theresa Williams, director of the Division of Humane Services. “Part of responsible pet ownership is making sure your companion has all of their shots. This is the first time we have offered a service like this, and we hope to hold more clinics in the future.”
One-year rabies shots are $5, and three-year vaccinations are $10. In addition, pet owners will be able to purchase rabies tags. Tags for spayed or neutered pets are $5, and $10 for unaltered animals. The tags are required for all pets living in St. Charles County.
In addition to rabies vaccinations, the Pet Adoption Center will offer the FVRCP shot for cats and the DHLPP vaccine for dogs. Both are priced at $10. Other services to be offered at the clinic include:
- Heartworm testing $15
- Microchipping $10
Pet owners can also pick up a 12-month supply of heartworm preventative at the clinic. The cost is $25 for pets up to 25 pounds, $35 for pets 26 to 50 pounds, and $40 for pets over 50 pounds.
Since it opened a decade ago, the Pet Adoption Center has helped more than 23,000 animals find their “forever home.” For more information about the center, or for questions about pet ownership and animal control in St. Charles County, call (636) 949-PETS (7387) or visit www.scchealth.org.
