What is the Secret to a Successful Color Scheme?
St. Louis, MO, (08/08/2012) – Matching wall paint color to existing elements in your home can unify the room with a common bond of color. But sometimes when the color you’ve selected is applied to the wall, it just does not look right with other colors in the room. One of the reasons this can happen is because the paint color has the wrong undertone.
Color
Undertone is Your Secret Weapon
Undertone is the hint
of another color you see peering through the original shade. The color
white is a good starting point for understanding undertones. When looking at a
white swatch on its own, it may be almost impossible to determine its
undertone. But look at the same swatch next to a pure white sample and it
can mysteriously reveal a faint yellow or pink hue. That is the
magic undertone.
