ST. LOUIS -- December 11, 2007 -- The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission (CVC) has hired John Bettag CMP as its Director of Corporate Meeting Sales. 

Bettag is responsible for managing corporate meeting sales solicitation for the CVC. .  He manages and develops sales managers who are assigned accounts within the corporate market deployment. .  Bettag also produces corporate leads for St. Louis hotels with an emphasis on corporate group bookings - concentrating on larger multiple hotel and convention center users. 

Bettag comes to the CVC following a 17 year career at Experient (formerly Conferon Global Services), where he most recently held the position of Vice President, Association Markets, within their strategic sales group.   

Bettag has been an active member of ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership and Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). .  He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. . Bettag holds a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) Certification.

The St. Louis CVC is the official destination marketing organization for St. Louis City and County for visitors of all types.  The CVC also operates the America's Center^® convention complex and Edward Jones Dome.
