Commercial Letter, Inc., one of St. Louis' premiere direct marketing companies, is proud to announce they have earned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. Founded in St. Louis in 1912, Commercial Letter provides a complete range of direct mailing and marketing services including printing, laser printing, mailing, campaign planning and a host of data processing services.
"Commercial Letter has always been dedicated to responsible direct marketing," explained Vice President, Brad Chrysler. "From water based inkjet addressing and soy printing inks, to marketing plans that reduce paper cost and waste, to our own recycling efforts, we are committed to social and environmental responsibility."
FSC certification allows Commercial Letter to provide customers with paper which has a documented, chain-of-custody path from a responsible sustainable forest to the final product.
"We're proud to be among the select few direct marketing companies in the nation to achieve FSC certification," Chrysler continued. "Over the years we've learned that taking the lead in responsible use of natural resources, such as paper, benefits our customers as well as our planet.
"As our clients examined their own commitments to environmental concerns, we began learning what we could do to support that effort. Since FSC is the only forest certification system supported by all major environmental groups, and has rigorous standards for tracking and certification, we knew it was the right choice. Our obligation to our customers and to the environment is to make it possible to assure the use of paper from forests that have been responsibly harvested."
FSC is considered the pioneer of forest management certification systems and has been the leading global forest certification program for fifteen years. The independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization was established to promote responsible management of the world's forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
