ST. LOUIS INSTITUTE OF INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE TO HOLD

THIRD ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM “THE ANTI-AGING PRESCRIPTION”

Simple lifestyle tools for diagnosis, prevention, treatment presented on October 13, 2012

WHO: A consortium of medical practitioners from a variety of disciplines, the St. Louis Institute of Integrative Medicine (SLiiM), is dedicated to prevention, wellness and finding the root cause of medical issues instead of just treating the symptoms. SLiiM is a nonprofit organization helping to educate fellow practitioners and the public on preventive and integrative medicine.

The St. Louis-based organization’s mission is to collaborate with other physicians, while educating the community, to implement a restorative model for optimal healthcare versus symptom management.

The one-day symposium will host the following speakers: Tom Guilliams, Ph.D., vice president of science and regulatory affairs at Ortho Molecular Products; Bryan Warner, M.D., owner and operator of BodyLogicMD of Saint Louis; Carrie Carda, M.D., obstetrician/gynecologist; and Jill Carnahan, M.D., founder and medical director at Flatiron Functional Medicine.

WHAT: At “The Anti-Aging Prescription: Transforming your Future from Treatment to Prevention,” participants, including the public, students and clinicians, will gain simple lifestyle tools for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. Presentations and exhibits will highlight the most cutting-edge research on functional and integrative medicine.

The symposium will include information about: the newest alternative treatment solutions for weight gain, depression, fatigue, pain, GI, menopause and headaches; easy tools to help boost energy; and wellness-focused vendor exhibits with networking. A nutritious gluten-free lunch is included and CME/CEU credits are offered for clinicians.

WHEN: Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants can register online at: www.sliim.org. Tickets are $79 for the general public and students (early registration is $59), and $125 for clinicians (early registration is $100). Early registration pricing is valid until 9/28/12.
