Summer Helmet Promotion Commences at Cardinal Ritter School Event

Meyerkord & Meyerkord, a St. Louis based personal injury law firm, recently presented high-quality Bell bicycle helmets to Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School and the Honorable Judge Jimmie Edwards wrapping up their 2012 Summer Bicycle Helmet Giveaway Program.  Cardinal Ritter President Leon Henderson graciously offered to distribute the helmets to several elementary schools, which feed into Cardinal Ritter.

Meyerkord & Meyerkord launched the campaign earlier this year in partnership with Easton Bell’s Safe Kids Program with an event at the Firm’s office in Lafayette Square were helmets and safe bicycling literature were handed out to St. Louis families.

Attorney and Managing Partner Geoff Meyerkord said he developed the St. Louis based campaign to focus on head trauma prevention and the severity of concussions, which have historically and incorrectly been viewed as minor injuries.  Meyerkord pointed to an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study indicating helmet use reduces the risk of head injury in bicycle accidents by 85 percent.

“We were pleased with the success of this program to provide the St. Louis community with 100 bicycle helmets for kids in need and hope our efforts help reduce future head injuries.  We look forward to expanding the program next year.”  Meyerkord said.
