Massage Envy Spa and the Arthritis Foundation St. Louis to Host Third Annual Healing Hands for Arthritis Event on September 18
ST. LOUIS – September 4, 2013 – Massage Envy Spa and the Arthritis Foundation have joined forces to host the third annual Healing Hands for Arthritis, a one-day national event to build awareness and raise funds in the fight against arthritis. On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Massage Envy St. Louis will donate $10 from every one-hour massage session or facial to the local chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Over the past two years, this one-day nationwide event has raised more than $1 million for the Arthritis Foundation.
“There’s no better way to give back than to treat yourself, a friend or family member to a relaxing and rejuvenating massage or facial,” said Dan Lowery, regional developer for the Massage Envy St. Louis region. “We strongly encourage our local community to come out on September 18 to help fight arthritis, a disease that affects approximately 50 million Americans and is America’s leading cause of disability.”
To make an appointment for the Healing Hands for Arthritis event, contact your local Massage Envy (visit MassageEnvyStL.com to find the location nearest you). Reservations are now being accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. All proceeds donated during Healing Hands for Arthritis will support the Arthritis Foundation’s nationwide efforts to prevent, control and cure arthritis. Additionally, Murad® – Massage Envy Spa’s exclusive skin care partner – will donate 10 percent of all sales from their products sold at Massage Envy Spa locations during the event to the Arthritis Foundation. Wyndmere and BioFreeze will also donate 10 percent of all sales from their products from Massage Envy Spa locations.
“We’re excited to partner with Massage Envy Spa for a third year to help bring attention to arthritis,” said Jan Bignall, executive director of the Arthritis Foundation’s Heartland Region, Missouri Office. “Healing Hands for Arthritis provides support for arthritis education, research, advocacy and other vital programs and services.”
Massage Envy Spa and the Arthritis Foundation share a common understanding about the devastating effects of arthritis on the body and the potential for massage therapy to relieve and control certain symptoms. Massage therapy can play an important role in alleviating the pain and swelling caused by arthritis, improving flexibility and circulation and reducing stress and anxiety.
In addition to hosting Healing Hands for Arthritis, Massage Envy Spa is a national sponsor of the Arthritis Foundation’s signature event, Arthritis Walk®. Massage Envy owners from across the country have been and continue to have a presence at their local Arthritis Walk events, taking the opportunity to share information about the benefits of massage therapy, provide chair massages and support the Arthritis Foundation’s mission.
