SSM Health Care Hires General Counsel And Deputy General Counsel
ST. LOUIS (August 5, 2013) - SSM Health Care welcomes Patricia “Patti” Williams, corporate vice president general counsel, and Yemi Adeyanju, deputy general counsel.
Williams and Adeyanju are leading SSM’s newly formed Legal Affairs Department. The new legal department was established to provide timely, high quality legal services across SSM Health Care, manage the use of outside counsel, and reduce overall legal costs for the system. The department will provide legal services to all regions and entities throughout the system, and will be the main point of contact with all outside law firms.
As corporate vice president general counsel, Williams will be responsible for developing the optimum legal department, overseeing legal affairs for the system, mentoring and supervising department staff, managing outside counsel use, and ensuring department performance standards and goals are met. Prior to joining SSM, Williams served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for RehabCare Group, Inc., from 2007 until its acquisition by Kindred Healthcare, Inc. in 2011. Williams received her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from St. Louis University School of Law. She began her new position at SSM on June 18, 2013.
As deputy general counsel, Adeyanju will work closely with Williams in managing select departmental processes and related staff, and serve as the primary legal contact for SSM-St. Louis, SSM Mid-Missouri, SSM facilities in Illinois and St. Francis Hospital and Health Services in Maryville, Mo. Prior to joining SSM, Adeyanju served as the associate general counsel for Catholic Health Partners (CHP) from 2004 to 2013 where she provided general legal services to CHP and its affiliated markets. Adeyanju received her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Syracuse University and her MBA from Ohio University. She began her new position at SSM on July 15, 2013.
