ST. LOUIS, MO. – Ted Dickman, BKD, LLP chief executive officer, is proud to announce that the firm’s annual industry conference is headed to St. Louis, Missouri. Approximately 700 partners and employees will attend the four-day event at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, injecting more than $1 million into one of BKD’s major markets. Conference activities include strategic planning, continuing professional education, networking opportunities and motivational messages from top-notch keynote speakers.
“St. Louis is the ideal setting for our industry conference,” Dickman said. “It’s centrally located within the firm’s geographic footprint and has wonderful amenities for our attendees. In fact, we’re so confident in the city’s offerings, we’ll be returning in October for One Great Week, BKD’s annual leadership conference.”
Preliminary sessions begin Tuesday, June 19, and the industry conference begins in earnest on Thursday, June 21. BKD has five national industry groups: construction and real estate, health care, financial services, manufacturing and distribution and not-for-profit and government. Advisors within these groups possess specialized industry expertise and insights that help clients navigate government regulations, make informed decisions and achieve their business goals.
“Our clients look to us for thought leadership, and that’s exactly what we strive to provide,” said Wendy Henry, managing partner of BKD’s St. Louis office. “This conference is a great example of BKD’s commitment to supplying advisors with the knowledge and tools they need to deliver unmatched client service. It also demonstrates our support for a community that has supported our firm through the years.”
BKD professionals share their thought leadership in award-winning industry e-newsletters, video insights and informative webinars available on bkd.com. They are also members of industry associations and advocacy groups and regularly participate in related events and seminars.
Keynote speakers at the Industry Conference 2012 include former Enron executive Sherron Watkins, CPA, a whistle-blower who was one of Time magazine’s “Persons of the Year” in 2002, and Matt Long, a New York City firefighter and triathlete who returned to competition three years after he was critically injured by a bus in 2005.
