In order to achieve these designations, one must pass a rigorous set of examinations in addition to completing other educational and professional requirements.

The CAS and AAA fulfill their respective missions to advance actuarial science through a focus on research, education, and professionalism. Among their members are experts in property casualty insurance, finance risk management, and enterprise risk management.
