CP: JR --

I hated to see Mike Keenan leave the Calgary Flames (sometimes bad things just seem to keep happening to good people). Any chance John Davidson could find a spot for him in the Blues' front office?
Jeremy Rutherford: Either that or good things keep happening to bad coaches (Keenan getting rehired).

If John Davidson hired Mike Keenan in any capacity, the Blues fans in this town would revolt. It would ruin all of the goodwill JD has created with the fan base.

So I guess we are disagreeing.

Thomas Kraft: Hi JR, Trading Roman Polak, David Perron and AlexPietrangelo for Chris Pronger would be a mistake and I will give you my reasons
1)How old is Pronger? and isn't Erik Johnson/Alex Pietrangelo the same type of player as Pronger but a whole lot younger. Pronger becomes a free agent after next season, What happens if we trade for him and he signs some where else. He wants to win another Stanley Cup I can see the Blues winning it in the next 2-3 years maybe longer do you think he will wait?
2)Why would you give up on such young talent for and old one. You don't give up that type of talent for someone maybe can help. Out of all the defensemen we have I would keep Roman Polack over Barret Jackman and Jay McKee neither one is worth the money they are making.
3)Roman Polak, David Perron and Alex Pietrangelo are still young and being traded at this stage of their career would be detrimental to them. I have watched allot of hockey over my years and once a player gets traded especially young one's they hardly ever recover to what they once were. I know it's part of the game but we need to really look hard into doing this to them. I rather have all three in the line up than one Pronger.

Thomas
Jeremy Rutherford:
I have heard those names (Perron, Polak, Pietrangelo) coming out of Anaheim, but that was months ago. The Pronger rumors probably won't heat up again until the draft, June 26-27. I agree with you . . . I wouldn't give up on those young players when you can get Pronger in 2010-11 as a free agent.

Brittney: I'm the one who asked about Bergie's middle name, and you asked me if I was getting a Tattoo, I would like to say no I am not getting a Tattoo. My friend and I just wanted to know, that is all.
Jeremy Rutherford: That's good to hear. I'm not big on tattoos. I will ask him his middle name next time I see him, but I don't know when that will be. You should check and see if he has a MySpace or Facebook page.

rjn16: Given his success in the Western Conference this past season, what's the possibility that Sonne will make the jump to the NHL next season and add more young offensive pop to the lineup?
Jeremy Rutherford: That would be a big jump. I think Peoria is more likely. I was at the Mills this week (to do the Erik Johnson story) and when I talked to Al MacInnis, he said that Sonne was among a number of young Blues prospects in town working out. That was unheard of four or five years ago, so that's a good sign. But as far as Sonne making the club in camp, that's a stretch. We'll see.

billrob1: Hey JR,
Thanks for the chat.
Last week you said you were going to talk to Jarmo, what did you find out about the depth of this years draft? Do you think that could that be a factor in a possible trade on draft day.
Jeremy Rutherford: I did talk to Jarmo for a few minutes, but we talked about the NHL combine (for the story I wrote about the combine last week). Time was short and we said we'd talk about the draft sometime soon.
