Tim: your guess on future 3B Freese or Wallace? My vote goes to Wallace I mean the Dude has nothing but prove everybody wrong ever since he stepped food in the cardinal organization and with apparently 40+ HR potential and a bat like waht he has you cant go wrong.
Jeff Gordon: Wallace has massive offensive potential. I see him in the bigs next season, one way or another. He isn't a bad at 3B as scouts feared, but he could become a very interesting LF candidate if he can make the adjustment. That would leave Freese in line at 3B.
Tim: With the depth of Ot in the draft this year and the need for protection on the Rams OL do you think its a lock the Rams go OT in the first round. As much as Id love to see Crabtree paired up with Avery I think its impeative to start rebuilding that OL. Im keeping my fingures crossed for Andre Smith. The Guys a beast and would be a HUGE upgrade. I think the line should look like this then
Pace Bell Incognito Grecco Smith Sexy? no but aggressive young and big guys that hopefully can get it done. I say wait it out with pace and See if he can just stay healthy for a year and keep Barron as a back up
Jeff Gordon: After watching Pace go down again Sunday, taking an OT makes more sense than ever. Then the team could re-sign Barron and either bring back Pace for one more year or turn him loose to spend money elsewhere.
Tim: Whats your opinion on ties in football? completely rediculous in my mind i wish they would change it
Jeff Gordon: It almost never happens, so I don't mind the rule as it stands. Exposing players to more than 15 minutes of OT in such a long season is dangerous.
Tim: How active do you think the Rams will be in free agency? There definitly going to have to offer alot of money to top players to get anybody to come to that mess but I was just curious. Do you think they would go strong after Cassel?
Jeff Gordon: Matt wants Aaron Rodgers Money, and why not? He is one of the few young, ready-to-start veterans hitting the market after this season.
The Rams will be busy, yes, in free agency. They will cycle out numerous veterans. But St. Louis won't be high on a lot of players' lists unless this franchise gets new leadership and new credibility.
Franklin: Oh Jeff,
What will it take for the Baby Billikens of SLU to reignite the fanbase? "Wins, wins, wins," I know. But those might not be coming in bunches, early in these youthful players' careers. Do you believe that Coach M should break with policy and allow the myriad freshmen to be interviewed and profiled? Do you believe he should open practices for fans and media, despite the obscenities you know about being tossed about? How does this team break through the clutter of Rams losses, Cards trade talk, Blues youth movement, etc.?
Seeking Bills knowledge,
Franklin!
Jeff Gordon: Majerus is a great coach, but he hasn't done much for the PR side. I think it's silly to shield the freshmen from the media, since they are the focal point of the team.
SLU needs to engage the casual sports fan who hasn't been to the new arena yet. Look at how hard the Blues are working to rebuild their fan base in this tough economy.
Especially with the Billikens in Year 2 of 4- or 5-year process, the school needs to be reaching out more.
