Steve: I agree with the comparisions of Oshie to Roenick. But I think Oshie might compare to another great player, Pat Verbeek. They are more of the same size and wasn't Verbeek's nickname The Little Ball of Hate. It's a shame that nickname is taken because they way TJ plays he will sure make the rest of the league hate him. I love how he abused Nash this weekend. Thanks for the chat.
Jeff Gordon: Verbeek was an agitator, too, with great hands. But T.J.'s speed and body checking are so much better.
407CardsFan: Whats Up Jeff?
Thanks for answering our questions!
I notice Freese is running away with the 3rd base job. Did Mather do something, besides his bat as of late, to get him booted from the competition? I could be way off base here, but I am just curious since I don't ever remember hearing anything bad about his glove.
Thanks
Jeff Gordon: Joe is barely adequate defensively, so he has to hit to keep that gig. And he didn't hit. Still has a nice future, though.
BradV: Hey Gordo! Do you see TLR actually naming a closer before opening day? I don't see the value of closer by committee, when you got a guy like Motte throwing in the upper 90's, and continues to impress in SP.
Jeff Gordon: I think Motte will emerge. But TLR doesn't want to burden the kid right out of the gate with the title. He'll spot others in the role and see how it works. But Motte has the tools to grab the job.
oneramsfan: Hows it! What are the chances of us taking Matt Stafford?
Jeff Gordon: Just about zero.
Luke: Gordo,
Who was it that hired Devaney? How did we know about him? Why wasn't he a GM already? I have my first man-crush.
Thanks,
Luke
Jeff Gordon: Shaw saw the need to add a football guy. Linehan was OK with it and Jay played along, hoping to keep his gig.
