whirlwind31: Hey Gordo,
Devaney has spoken about filling the middle of the roster, in other words adding depth with solid players who aren't superstars. Are there any potential free agents who fit that profile and you think the Rams might be later interested in acquiring?
Jeff Gordon: The P-D will analyze the free-agent market as it pertains to the Rams once we have a better idea of which players on the list -- and which assistant coaches that Spagnuolo hires. I'm guessing that the staff will have a big say on potential mid-range gets.
Vinny: Gordo,
All around great job by the Rams Execs. This should make all us Rams Fans excited for the first time in awhile. Chip and Billy kept true to their words and I think they brought back honesty and integrity to this organization. Spags is the man!
Now, if we can only get rid of bulger!!
Jeff Gordon: Give Devaney credit. He assembled a nice list of candidates, then settled on his guy in a quick-yet-orderly fashion.
Billy S: I was wondering what day the Rams set aside to introduce their new coach to the media and fans. Thanks
Jeff Gordon: That news conference was at 11 a.m. Check elsewhere on the site for details.
Zac, TN: Gordo,
I like our GM we have now and he has made some decent moves since he took over the job. The thing I don't understand with him is that when Jocketty was on the job he would not sit back and let the Cubs take our former players that were fan favorites and still not attempt to sign anyone. Jocketty would have been deep in conversation with Ben Sheets right who is sitting back waiting. If Mo wants to be a hero he needs to sign Ben quick before the Cubs get him! What do you think?
Jeff Gordon: Sheets has a long history of pitching injuries. Other teams have taken a look at him and passed. The Cards have been down this road too many times. Any deal with Ben would have to be incentive-based.
Tim: Any word on how Motte is doing with his second pitch?
Jeff Gordon: We'll see what he has in spring training. He'll have an interesting six- or seven-week stretch down in Jupiter.
