Jb: I have a concern regarding the timing of the left turn lane lights going onto I-64 from North-bound Brentwood Blvd. When the light turns green at the stoplight right before it (right past Eager Rd.), it stays red. Thus, the traffic is always backed up here and can't move forward, even when the light is green. In addition, it seems when this happens that there is no traffic coming from the opposite direction that would make it necessary for the left turn light to be red. Has this problem been identified by MODot and is your team working to improve the timing on Brentwood Blvd?

Thanks for the informative chats!
Linda Wilson, Todd Waelterman and David Wrone: I understand what you are saying and have seen it myself. I will have our traffic engineers check the timing on this.

Kwame: Also, if you are making the a left turn from the FPP ramps onto Grand Blvd., are you supposed to stop in the median, or are you supposed to continue on thru to Grand without stopping? I have always been confused about this and it seems even more important now that more people are using this intersection with the I-64 closure.
Linda Wilson, Todd Waelterman and David Wrone: I have asked a traffic engineer for an opinion on this. Based on the placement of the signals and the stop bars on the pavement, it appears that when you make your left turn from Forest Park Parkway onto Grand you should proceed through on Grand. The red light you are seeing is for the stopped traffic on Grand. The intersection is just so big it feels uncomfortable. There is not another stop bar in the middle of the bridge indicating where you should stop, so it appears you should proceed.

dweebe: Oakland Ave and Clayton Ave seem to be getting a lot more use due to the I-64 shutdown. However it doesn't appear as though the traffic lights at Macklind/Oakland and Hampton/Clayton Ave have been adjusted.

Macklind/Oakland still seems to be split 50/50 between the two even though Oakland now has much heavier traffic.

Hampton/Clayton Ave seems to still be timed as if Hampton still has major north/south traffic.

Can these intersections be looked at? I've contacted the city and nothing has changed.
Linda Wilson, Todd Waelterman and David Wrone: The city engineers are making minor adjustments to signals every rush period. I will pass this along to them.
