How Bernike Miklasz analyzed the first half:

The key to the first half was coach Mike Anderson’s decision to switch to a matchup zone about 8 minutes into the game. Memphis had been killing the Tigers on easy layups, blowing by MU defenders on dribble drives. But once the layoff lanes were blocked by the zone, Memphis had to resort to taking jumpers, and it wasn’t pretty. On the other end, Mizzou continually beat Memphis with slashing drives, and with high-post passes whipped down low to catch Memphis napping. So far Mizzou’s game plan was excellent. And the lead is 13.
