Today in the Obama/New Yorker satire piece PD(p.A3), the photo used had a thumb over bin Laden’s face and a black fireplace. In the real picture, there is a flag burning in the fireplace AND
the paragraph which states: “The couple is doing a fist tap in front of a fireplace in which an American Flag is burning. Over the mantle hangs a portrait of Obama bin Laden.” was removed from the original AP piece.
I am wondering why there were so many “omissions” in the PD’s version of the story.

tick… tick… tick… anything from the P-D Editorial Board on FARC hostages being freed in Colombia? One week and counting.

    esp see last (3) paragraphs:
“She met at the Venezuelan presidential palace with FARC leaders last fall. From that meeting the rebels reported that “Piedad says that Chávez has Uribe going crazy. He doesn’t know what to do. That —->> Nancy Pelosi <<—- helps and is ready to help in the swap [hostages in exchange for captured guerrillas]. That she has designated [U.S. Congressman Jim] McGovern for this.”

“If the speaker of the House was working with Ms. Cordoba in this scheme, her judgment was more than a little misguided…”

I would like to be the first to thank Cindy McCain and all the other AB shareholders plus all those stockholders who have sold stock in the last two weeks for their contribution to the U.S. Treasury. I’d like to think that Congress is going to use the infusion of cash come next April to pay down our Iraq war debt, but instead the new Democrats in office will probably just use it toward new social programs for all those affected by the economic downturn. Oh wait a minute, since Obamamessiah is going to win, life will be grand again in the U.S. with full employment.
