There were persistent rumors that the Martin Luther King Jr. statue in Fountain Park was going to be moved to a more prominent spot in the city. Turns out, that is not true. But all the talking rallied the neighborhood and shined a light on the passion residents have that brought the statue here almost 32 years ago. This is the 40th year for holiday lights display at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. The display can be seen through Jan. 3: Indoor activities are open from 5 to 9 p.m. and outdoor lights can be seen from 5 to 10 p.m.
