Bottled nonsense

Bright kudos is in order for the mayor and at least five environmentally aware restaurant proprietors for stopping the use of bottled water. The purchase and use of bottled water in this country is, to a lot of us, a great joke. It just does not make sense. And the production, shipping and use of plastic are hard on our environment.

Only 20% of the bottles are recycled. I guess this is not surprising if you consider the mentality of those using the bottles.

But if those same targeted people don’t recycle the bottles, then they’re not very earth-concious, are they? If our water is good enough for the brewery to use, why would I go to the added expense of paying for it in bottles? I suppose some may prefer the taste.

I would say that is a direct contradiction to the health and earth-concious people these bottled waters are targeted to buying.
