Sleek and compact, the stylish little Gaslight Theater is mainly known as the home of the St. Louis Actors Studio. Other troupes have performed there, too. But from the time the theater opened, William Roth and the other SLAS founders said they wanted to see the theater offer a variety of entertainment, the way that clubs in the neighborhood did years ago (when it was known as Gaslight Square).

They’ll offer a taste of that on Friday, Oct. 23, when the New Legends of Gaslight Square Comedy Series presents Kevin McPeek onstage, Known for playing clean and clever at the same time, McPeek counts appearances on HBO and Comedy Central in his credits. The show also features Rob Durham; Mike McGuire is emcee.

The show starts at 8 p.m. at the theater, 354 North Boyle. Tickets are $13. For tickets (and, if you like, dinner reservations at the West End Grill & Pub, which is basically the theater lobby), call 314-531-4607.
