Carpool acceleration
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

The next time you’re stuck in traffic look around. Most cars have just one person in them.

The St. Louis region has never been a hotspot for carpooling. But indications say more people are doing it. Crazy high gasoline prices, road construction and common sense have more people sharing rides with friends and strangers. Some are forming carpools at work. Others are turning to carpool matching services Ridefinders and eRideShare. Both online matching services report hundreds more turning to them each month to find carpool matches.

Just out of curiosity to the carpoolers out there, how’s it going? Are you sailing to work smoothly, and loving your carpool mates, or are you fighting over the radio? Email me at ecrouch@post-dispatch.com.
