Highway Commission gets new member

Joe Carmichael of Springfield, Mo. received Senate confirmation today to the Missouri Highways and Transportation.Carmichael is a former chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party and manages a law firm. He will replace Jim Anderson of Springfield, Mo. on the six-member bipartisan commission that oversees the Missouri Department of Transportation.  Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Carmichael to a six-year term on March 9. Other members of the commission are Mike Kehoe of Jefferson City, David Gach of St. Joseph, Duane Michie of Hayti, Rudy Farber of Neosho and Grace Nichols of St. Charles.
